In the first entry for Black History Month, I wanted to look in the mirror and remind myself that nothing happens in vain. Despite the atrocities, dysfunction, and uncertain future, something can still be done. We still have an opportunity to fight and become who our ancestors prayed for, but we have to get out of our own way, out of our fears, and proceed with more conviction, for salvation is here on earth.
